City of Albany hosts town hall meeting to update citizens on Henderson Park recreational facility

ALBANY, Ga. – The city of Albany is also gearing up for an important town hall meeting, where residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions and hear from city leaders.

The primary focus of this meeting is to discuss updates on the Henderson Park recreational facility.

Commissioner Demetrius Young, the City Representative for Ward 6, will provide detailed information about the project’s progress and developments.

“Well, the main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the new Henderson Park project, which we’re going to do a $8.5 million recreational development here at the current site of Henderson Gym. This is a project that has been in the works for the last few years now, and we’re ready to go forward with the design of the center and there are going to be some decisions needed to be made. So, we’re going to ask the input of the community to come out and weigh in on some of the design and looks of the building,” said Commissioner Demetrius Young, City Representative, Ward 6.

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting at the Henderson Park gym tonight at 7 pm to stay informed and participate in discussions to ensure their voices are heard.
