Charges made in Connection to South Central Trailer Park Shootings in Tifton

The shootings remain active and ongoing investigations.

TIFTON, Ga. – Jerome Parks, 33, and a juvenile, both of Tifton, have been charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated battery, one count of robbery and two counts of criminal damage to property in connection with the shootings that occurred at South Central Trailer Park in Tifton.

On March 17, 2023, at approximately 1:35pm, Tifton Police were dispatched to 1113 South Central, Tifton in response to gunshots being fired. Arriving at the scene, officers found a male with gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was transported to Tift Regional Medical Center for treatment.

On June 13, 2023, at approximately 2:14pm, officers were sent to Tift Regional Medical Center with reference to a gunshot victim that arrived at the hospital. At the hospital, officers identified Jaterrious Hurley, 20, of Tifton, receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the head. Hurley told officers he was shot at South Central Trailer Park in Tifton.

The shootings remain active and ongoing investigations. No further information will be released at this time.
