Celebrate Your Valentine with Yoga and Painting Classes at the Albany Museum of Art
The Albany Museum of Art offers unique experiences for couples in February
ALBANY, Ga. – [For Release February 2, 2026 – Albany, GA] ─ If you are looking for a new or different way to celebrate your Valentine, skip the conventional candy and flowers for yoga and painting at the Albany Museum of Art.
“After all, there is no better romantic environment than art. Our monthly Saturday morning yoga class meets on Valentine’s Day, so the timing could not be better,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Van Oteghem said. “And on Thursday, February 19th, we will create our versions of Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss at our Corks & Canvases Painting Party.
“Both of these events are ideal for couples who are looking for something unique that they can do together. Renea Miller’s yoga classes are for everyone, from beginner to expert. Our painting parties are also for all skill levels, including those who have never picked up a paintbrush.”
Yoga in the Gallery is conducted on the second Saturday of the month in one of the galleries of the Albany Museum of Art. The hour-long session, which falls on Feb 14, starts at 10 am.
“It’s the perfect way to start Valentine’s Day,” Van Oteghem said. “You can enjoy the beautiful art in the gallery while you reduce stress and improve your physical health together as Renea leads you through the session. All you need to do is dress comfortably and bring in your mat.”
The cost for the session is $10 per person, or $5 for AMA donors. The link to RSVP can be found at www.albanymuseum.com/ama_programs/yoga/.
On the Thursday after Valentine’s Day, couples can create romantic masterpiece paintings together at the bimonthly Corks & Canvases Painting Party. The inspiration for the Feb 19 party will be Gustav Klimt’s 1907-8 painting The Kiss.
“Created at the height of Klimt’s ‘Golden Period,’ The Kiss depicts an embracing couple wearing elaborately decorated robes,” Van Oteghem said. “Our painters will get step-by-step instructions during the two-hour session that starts at 5:30 pm. You’ll enjoy complementary snacks and wine during the class, with soft background music. It’s an ideal couple’s activity, and everything you need, including the canvas, is provided with your registration.”
The cost for the session is $35 per person, or $30 for AMA donors. The link to RSVP can be found at www.albanymuseum.com/ama_programs/corks-and-canvases/.
The events are not exclusively “couples only,” she said. “Folks are welcome to attend solo or with a friend or friends. We love all our yoga enthusiasts and painters,” Van Oteghem said.
