CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: September 3, 2024

Labor Day ended the dry streak with 1.36″ in Albany, GA. That comes after a tie for the 2nd driest August ever recorded 0.78″ behind 0.73″ 1955. Cloudy and cool, but still muggy this evening. Breezy northeasterly winds Wednesday. Showers Thursday. Rain, heavy at times, along with localized flooding potential for Friday. 2″-4″+ of rainfall is expected. Rain chances gradually taper off throughout the weekend. Drier end to weekend. Lows fall into the mid to upper 60s. Below average temperatures last through 2nd week of September. In the tropics, NHC monitoring three disturbances, but no immediate threats at this time as we near the climatological peak of hurricane season.
