Incredible rainfall totals last night with 2″-4″ of rainfall in most areas while some received over 6″ with nearly a foot of rainfall in Valdosta prompting a rare Flash Flood Emergency with water surrounding and entering homes and numerous covered roadways. Additional rain showers tonight with rainfall totals an 1.5″ or less, but any additional rainfall could result in isolated flooding and a Flood Watch remains in effect this evening. Warm weekend with rain chances returning the second half into Veterans Day. Temperatures gradually cool closer to average.
Hurricane Rafael continues moving westward in the Gulf of Mexico. Westbound and down general motion will continue while weakening as it encounters a hostile environment of cooler water temps, wind shear, & drier air.
