CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: May 17, 2023
More rain is on the way!
Rain remains likely Thursday as a wave of low pressure tracks over the area along the remnants of a stationary frontal boundary. The best coverage of rainfall looks to be over the southeastern half of the area. Friday will see a messy, cloudy day with light rain or drizzle as the effects of “the wedge” or cold air damming takes hold as we feel the gradient effects between a departing Coastal Carolina low pressure system and a Canadian high pressure building to our north. This may keep temperatures in the upper 70s-low 80s range the next couple of days. Humidity surges back along with a summer-like weather pattern with afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms for much of next week.
