CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: March 8, 2024

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible from early Saturday morning through late afternoon with threats of damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and heavy rainfall with potential flash flooding. There’s a tight gradient of forecast rainfall totals. 1″-3″ of rainfall for northern counties, .5″ – 1″ for southern counties, but higher totals cannot be ruled out if heavier rain bands set up over our area from training of thunderstorms. River flooding may become a problem next week. Don’t forget to “Spring Forward” this weekend as Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 10th at 2 a.m. Drier and much cooler end to weekend and early next week, then a gradual moderation in temperatures followed by a climb into the 80s by end of the week into next weekend with the next chance of thunderstorms.
