St. Patrick’s Day will be breezy with southerly wind gusts up to 30 mph possible. There is a Marginal risk (level 1/5) for much of SWGA & a Slight risk (level 2/5) for SW counties late Fri. evening-early Sat.am. Main threat is damaging wind. A low but non-zero chance of a brief tornado. The threat is highly conditional if the air can become moist, warm enough. Locally heavy rainfall with up to 1″-2″ of rainfall possible. Rain may linger into the first half of Saturday with cloudy skies and chilly temperatures. Temperatures stay below seasonal levels for the weekend into early next week. Spring begins on Monday, March 20, 2023 with the Vernal Equinox at 5:24 pm EDT. Rain chances return next Tuesday with temperatures below average. Temperatures warm back up by middle of next week.
