CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: June 15, 2023
More storms to end the work week...
The very active weather pattern continues, but fortunately the worst of the weather may be over, for now. That’s not to say there won’t be any more severe weather, but storms will become more widely scattered, fewer in number and mainly confined to areas to our west on Friday. A slight risk – level 2 out of 5 of severe weather does clip our southwestern counties. The primary threats remain the same – damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding, and frequent lightning. Rain chances drop ever so slightly heading into Father’s day weekend and for Juneteenth holiday. Rain chances become likely again early next week as the active pattern could reload and we see more rounds of thunderstorms or at least our typical summertime thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall. This is really a cause for concern given the antecedent wet conditions and saturated soils. This may aggravate the flooding situation and river flooding may become at least a minor problem.
