CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: January 1, 2025

Freezing and frosty mornings through the weekend. Briefly milder with a chance of rain showers on Monday. Frigid brutal cold follows thereafter. Multiple Hard Freezes likely. There’s a Slight Risk of wintry precipitation, perhaps areas of heavy snowfall from eastern Texas stretching to the Carolinas sometime during the time period for the end of next week into next weekend as defined by the Climate Prediction Center. There’s a very slim chance generally <20% for either light freezing rain (ice), sleet, or light snow or essentially a wintry mix in SWGA. Obviously, forecasting any type of wintry precipitation is extremely difficult and subject to changes. The confidence in any wintry precipitation occurring remains very, very low, but high on bitterly colder weather. The last measurable snowfall in SWGA is January 3, 2018 when Douglas, GA received >3″ of snow. Stay tuned for updates!
