CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: February 14, 2024
Fantastic day to fine evening for those Valentine’s Day dinner plans. Seasonal temperatures this afternoon to a cool night to snuggle up with someone special. Not as cold as last night as a freeze was realized in a few areas. Mainly sunny and milder Thursday near 70. Clouds thicken Friday. Slight chance of a rain shower Friday afternoon and evening. Rain likely Saturday morning possibly lasting through early Sunday. Freeze is likely on President’s Day. There continues to be a rise on area rivers, creeks, and streams following Tuesday’s heavy rainfall. There has been an increase in crest levels for this weekend. Moderate flooding is forecast for Spring Creek near Colquitt and also the Ocmulgee River at Abbeville, minor flooding still forecast for the Flint River at Albany, Newton, Bainbridge, and at or near flood stage for Mucaklee and Kinchafoonee Creeks in Lee County and nearby Terrell County. There has also been a rise at the Walter F. George Lock and Dam on the Chattahoochee River.
