CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: April 3, 2023

It has been an active day with tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings. Most of the damage reports have come out of Decatur county. Since earlier this afternoon, the severe weather threat has greatly diminished. The clouds will hang around into Tuesday as well as a warm, moist air mass. So, expect a muggy, sticky day on Tuesday. Wednesday features more sunshine, but temperatures go even warmer into the upper 80’s-around 90 degrees! The upper level high pressure ridge will weaken some later in the week bringing rain chances back. Rain and a few thunderstorms likely for Good Friday. Scattered thunderstorms will remain possible throughout the Easter weekend. Not a completely washout for the Easter holiday, but make sure to have a back up plan in the afternoon. At this time, strong storms are not expected. Slightly cooler air, the infamous “Easter Snap” may pay us a visit in the days following the holiday.
