CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: April 2, 2024

Enhanced to Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms overnight.

THREATS: 10% Chance of Tornadoes (some strong EF-2 111-135mph+), 30% Chance of Damaging Winds, 15% Large Hail. FOLKS, this overnight threat has lots of potential. PLEASE share & MAKE SURE you and your family KNOW YOUR PLAN!
TIMING: Severe weather may arrive first and worst for northwestern counties around 11 pm or Midnight. The threat window expands southeast after Midnight, peaks around 2 am – 7 am, then exits the area at the latest Noon Wednesday. Cannot be more specific, because of the discrete cellular storm mode that may eventually congeal into a squall line. The storm mode in combination with an increase in the low-level jet will enhance updraft rotation potential, and tornado chance.

Breezy and much cooler on Thursday. Highs in mid to upper 60s and lows in the low 40s. Mostly cloudy skies for the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.
