CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: April 10, 2024

SEVERE WEATHER  &  FLASH FLOODING: A Tornado Watch has been issued for portions of SWGA until 9pm. A Flash Flood Watch has been extended / expanded northward until Thursday morning or early afternoon. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 pm EDT tonight to 2 pm EDT Thursday. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected. Additional redevelopment of storms is expected overnight through Thursday morning. TIMING: First round: 7 pm-Midnight. Second round: Midnight-7am west of I-75 & 7am-10am along/east of I-75. Flash Flooding is likely and will be a serious threat moving into the overnight hours and on Thursday morning. High resolution models are indicating backbuilding and training of thunderstorms with 2″-4″/hr. rainfall rates. 3″-5″ along and northwest of Flint River, 2″-4″ from Flint River to I-75, and 2″ or less farther east. Nearly a half a foot of rainfall is possible somewhere within the next 12-24 hours. Watch for rising water! Remember, Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Breezy and drier Friday. Brief cooldown to kick off weekend. Morning lows in upper 40s to low 50s. Much warmer next week in mid-upper 80s. Time to break out the t-shirts, shorts, & tank tops!
