CASA holds volunteer recruitment fair in Tifton for non-profit organizations

TIFTON, Ga. – Coastal Plain (CASA) United multiple non-profit organizations across Tifton to hold a volunteer recruitment fair for any eager civilians willing to help.

“This is great because it gives us a chance to meet other agencies but as well as people as people who are looking for volunteers,” said Shirene Daniell, Toys for Tots Coordinator, Tifton.

Although CASA in Tifton is a non-profit organization itself, they decided that uniting with other non-profits for this event would better serve the communities needs.

“We are doing this for everybody because volunteers are needed everywhere so you know this just a great encouragement to our community and come out support all of these organizations,” said Jana Barfield, Program and Marketing Coordinator, CASA.

Many non-profits aid not only people in need but our nation’s heroes.

“We work with veterans, we work with the battered women’s shelter, we work with children,” said Genie McCook, Secretary, Tifton Woman’s Club.

Volunteering for one of these organizations could be something students in the surrounding area could put on their resume as well.

“Absolutely I think that it makes a resume look amazing if you come and volunteer with one of these amazing organizations that we have here,” said Barfield.

And, you only need one character trait to be a volunteer.

“We want them to just have a willing spirit, just be willing to help us,” said Daniell.
