Camilla Lions Club plans 25th Annual Pheasant Hunt fundraiser

CAMILLA, Ga. – The Camilla Lions Club is making a difference by hosting events that raise funds for donations and charities.

Their next big event is the 25th Annual Pheasant Shoot, set to take place on February 1st.

Last year, this popular event drew over 150 hunters, and this year promises to be just as exciting. The cost to participate is $175, with three time slots available at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. All proceeds will go toward supporting community programs.

“The Camilla Lions Club is known for being one of the biggest organizations in the county as far as service projects. But, the State of Georgia is known for Lions Club across the nation and internationally. We’re actually working towards 1.2 million right now across the world, but we have almost 4,000 members in the State of Georgia with a little bit less than a thousand just in District 18,” said Christy Wray, District Governor for Lions Club.

“Yes. Our Pheasant Hunt is an annual fundraiser that we do for the local community. And, we raise money for things such as eyeglasses. People that may not be able to get them on their own. For vision projects. Things for scholarships for all five schools in our county or neighboring Baker county. So, it does a lot for the community, raises a lot of money. And, we just want to be able to help in any way that we can,” said Greyson Shiver, member.
