Brooks Co. Sheriff’s Office: 1 dead, others injured in Christmas Night shooting incident in Quitman
QUITMAN, Ga. – Brooks County Sheriff’s Deputies Assist in Quitman Shooting Incident
At approximately 9:27 pm Brooks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for assistance from the Quitman Police Department following a shooting that occurred within the city limits of Quitman, near the area of E. Stephens Street and N. Culpeper Street.
Brooks County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted with on-scene operations and provided security at Brooks County Hospital as multiple victims were transported for treatment.
At this time, one subject is deceased, and others were reported injured. No further details are being released at this stage.
This incident remains under active investigation by the Quitman Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
