BREAKING: Armed standoff underway after officer-involved shooting in Tifton

TIFTON, Ga. – On Friday morning, Tifton Police Department (TPD), Tift County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) and other law enforcement agencies are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting after two officers were shot on Lee Avenue.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agents are on the way to the scene.

Preliminary reports indicate that an armed suspect is in an armed standoff with law enforcement inside a residence.

Please avoid the area at the intersection of Goff Street and around the area of Ferry Lake Road to Eighth Street by Fulwood Park.

G.O. Bailey Elementary School is currently on lockdown out of an abundance of caution at this time.
