Body found in Terrell County ditch; GBI investigating

DAWSON, Ga. – Authorities responded to the scene of death investigation after a body was discovered in a ditch in Terrell County.

The body was found on Hattie Albritton Road according to officials.

According to the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office, the victim died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but the victim has not been identified pending notification of family members and next of kin.

Detectives with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is on the scene and are actively investigating at this time.
