Auntie Angie’s House Restoration Day

ALBANY, Ga. – Big plans are in store for Albany, as one group plans to revitalize a property for women in need.

The group, Auntie Angie’s House, spent the weekend renovating this East Albany Plaza into a home for troubled women, as well as a community closet.

We followed up with founder, Angela King on Saturday.

“We have roots here in Albany. I actually came to Albany myself a few years back when I kind of fell on hard times, and I lived here for about three years. And, the community of Albany was so welcoming and it’s just a place where this service is needed. So, I wanted to make sure that not only did we service the community of Atlanta, but that we stretched our arms down here to Albany, Georgia, as well,” said Angela King, founder, Auntie Angie’s House.

Angela says they’re hoping to have the ribbon cutting for the building in the near future.
