Director of Educational Talent Search for ASU, Callie Evans, talks about mentorship and student support.

“So, we’re taking our middle schoolers on a tour of Albany State’s campus and then our high schoolers are talking about finance. Financial aid, scholarships, FAFSA, we have someone from Georgia futures who is here to assist. Then on the third day we’ll do career readiness. We’ll have a lot of careers personal here to talk about the different avenues, whether its health care, I.T., education, and we’re also gonna have someone here from fashion entertainment. And, then on the last day is the STEM field trip. We will be taking our middle schoolers to iFly and our high schoolers will go the Mercedes-Benz Stadium,”  said Callie Evans, ASU ETS Director.

Evans talks about teaching the youth financial literacy.

“We want to be able to talk about financial aid and finances because sometimes the parents might not be as knowledgeable about it. A lot of our population of students are first generation students. Meaning they could be the first person in their family to go to a four-year college, so providing that information for our students is imperative because they may not know. So, if we can have someone to come in to give them the knowledge, that’s awesome,” said Evans.
