Arrest made in connection to deceased fetus found in Tifton dumpster

TIFTON, Ga. – After further investigation stemming from the fetus that was recovered from the dumpster at Brookfield Mews Apartment Complex on Thursday, March 20, 2025, the Tifton Police Department is announcing the arrest and charges of Selena Maria Chandler Scott, 24, of Tifton.

Scott has been arrested and charged with:
• One count of concealing the death of another person
• One count of throwing away or abandonment of a dead body prohibited

Scott is being held in the Tift County Sheriff’s Office awaiting her first appearance. This case is still active and on-going.
