Arrest made in connection to Americus fatal shooting

AMERICUS, Ga. – An individual has been apprehended and charged in relation to the shooting fatality of 44-year-old Kewan Morgan in Americus.

On November 30th, law enforcement responded to an incident at 411 Crawley Street where Morgan was discovered with a gunshot wound. He was promptly taken to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Following further investigation, the GBI issued a be on the lookout alert for a suspect, 22-year-old Kirone Tramaine Wilson.

On Saturday, December 9th, deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office successfully took Wilson into custody. Wilson now faces charges of felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the incident.
