Arrest made in Albany armed robbery investigation

ALBANY, Ga. – In other recent developments, an armed robbery suspect is now in custody and facing multiple charges in connection to a crime earlier this month.

At approximately 11:20 am on Tuesday, June 4th, officers responded to an armed robbery where the victim reported being physically assaulted and robbed of her cellphone at gunpoint.

On June 5th, the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Bureau located the suspect, 28-year-old Calvin Lamar Thompson Jr., at his residence in the 600 block of Willard Avenue. A search warrant was executed at the location.

Thompson faces charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and terroristic threats and acts. He was taken into custody and transported to the Dougherty County Jail.
