APD Youth Division to host 2nd annual ‘Stop Youth Gun Violence’ Event
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department (APD) Albany-Dougherty Youth Unit has opened registration for their ‘Stop Youth Gun Violence’ program.
Taking place on Saturday, February 22nd.
The program’s goal is to curb violence in kids and teens.
Youth Division Corporal, Franklin met with us to talk about the need for a program like this.
“But at the same time, you know, I say it’s long overdue. The more our kids know about gun safety, the better off they are… The goal is to kind of bring awareness to our youth in the area about gun violence and some of the do’s and don’ts. What to do when you’re around weapons. What do you do when you’re around people with weapons and so forth.” Cpl. Dramoski Franklin, Youth Unit; APD.
Registration will be open until Wednesday, February 19th.
And you can contact Corporal Franklin about the event at 229-894-5268.
