APD provides update on burned body discovered in the 2800 block of Rosebrier Avenue

(Albany, GA) The Albany Police Department (APD) is providing an update regarding the investigation into the discovery of an unidentified deceased person found in a wooded area in the 2800 block of Rosebrier Avenue in November 2025. Since the initial release, investigators have identified the deceased individual as Mark Gregson (65). Notification of next of kin has been made.

At this time, the investigation into Gregson’s death is being led by The Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, and partnerships include The Dougherty County Coroner’s Office, The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), and The Albany Fire Department (AFD). Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, specific details surrounding the circumstances of Gregson’s death are not being released at this time.

Investigators are continuing to follow leads and are asking anyone who may have information related to this case, or who may have observed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident, to come forward.
