APD now hiring
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department are currently hiring new recruits. The APD are committed to providing excellence in policing and place merit in core values such as professionalism, respect, integrity, accountability, and interpersonal skills.
Sergeant Calandra Bell in recruitment talks about the requirements for potential recruits.
“You must have a high school diploma or a GED, have a valid state ID, have no felony or domestic violence convictions on their record, must be able to pass a phycological test as well as a background, and be at least 20 years of age,” said Sgt. Calandra Bell, APD recruitment.
Crisis Communication Manager, Sylah Ferguson talks about how to apply.

Also, you can go to apdwantsyou.com or also just our city website and look up under Albany Police Department,” said Sylah Ferguson, Crisis Communication Manager.
Ferguson talks about the atmosphere within the APD.
“The atmosphere at the Albany Police Department gives officers and also civilians the opportunity to train and build within their law enforcement careers. It’s a great training aspect and it helps people to build within the community,” said Ferguson.
