APD arrests man in a major scam and fraud case

ALBANY, Ga. – On December 1, 2023, a victim of credit card fraud called the Albany Police Department to investigate fraudulent charges that were made on his credit card at a local store. The victim told police that it was unusual because he had his card in his possession when the purchases were made. The victim received video footage of the suspect using his card and told police that the man was the clerk that check him in to a local hotel in Albany.

Detectives conducted a search warrant at the home of Brandon Deon Williams and found him to be in possession of over 100 documents and machines to make credit cards. Williams cloned the victim’s card after getting his credit card number. Williams was charged with multiple counts of Identity Fraud as well as several counts of Financial Transaction Card Theft and Fraud. Williams’ card machines and over 100 documents were confiscated after the search warrant was executed.
