APD arrests man after he attacked a woman with a firearm

ALBANY, Ga. – On October 14, 2023, Marcus Telfair entered a vehicle in the 1900 block of Buck Lane. The victim then approached Telfair but went back inside the location when Telfair showed a gun.

On October 23, 2023, Telfair went into the 200 block of W Tift Ave and grabbed a female victim by the hair, dragged her outside, and started striking her in the head with a firearm. A witness saw the victim being attacked and ran over to help when Telfair pointed the gun at him, telling him to get back.

The witness called the police, and upon police arrival, Telfair took flight, but was later apprehended.

As a result of investigating the two separate incidents, Telfair was charged with Entering Auto, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession During Certain Crimes for the October 14th incident. He was charged with Kidnapping, Robbery by Snatching, Aggravated Assault, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession During Certain Crimes for the October 23rd incident.

The items that were taken from the victim on October 14th, were later recovered when Telfair was arrested.
