American Red Cross and Valdosta Rotary Club community blood drive aims to save lives and support recovery efforts

VALDOSTA, Ga. – A simple act of kindness could make a life-changing difference this week as a community blood drive comes to Valdosta, giving residents the chance to save lives while supporting a local cause.

The American Red Cross and the Valdosta Rotary Club are teaming up to host the drive on Friday, January 23, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rainwater Conference Center.

Organizers say each donation not only helps patients in need of lifesaving blood, but also benefits the Azalea Recovery Alliance, which works to strengthen recovery and wellness efforts across the region. The goal is to collect at least 30 donations, with additional local funding generated for every donation beyond that mark.

As an added incentive, all donors will be entered for a chance to win a Super Bowl LX getaway, which includes two game tickets, round-trip airfare, a three-night hotel stay, and a $1,000 gift card for expenses.

Every donation truly counts, and one hour of your time could help save multiple lives.

Those interested in donating are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering the sponsor code “ROTARY”. You can also call 1-800-RED-CROSS for more information.
