Alzheimer’s Association preparing for “The Longest Day”
(GEORGIA) – With the official start of Summer only a couple of weeks away, the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia are encouraging the entire state to help raise money for those who are suffering from the disease.
The Longest Day, being held on June 20th, the day with the longest amount of sunlight, will be done a little different this year.
Robin Aldridge, the organizer for the Longest Day, as many fundraisers that are part of the event will have to conduct themselves differently due to COVID-19 concerns.
Aldridge is still hoping for people to be able to make the most out of it to help those dealing with Alzheimer’s.
“We are asking for people to stay safe, and stay healthy and practice social distancing. But there are so many activities that people are doing that they can turn into a fundraiser. If you’re a hiker, go hike. If you like trivia night, set up a virtual trivia night with your friends and family,” says Aldridge.
