Albany’s Combos® Marathon and Half Marathon seeks volunteers ahead of 20th anniversary race
ALBANY, Ga. – One of Albany’s largest and most beloved events is preparing for a milestone year, and organizers are calling on the community to help make it a success.
The Combos® Marathon and Half Marathon returns on Saturday, March 7, 2026, marking its 20th year, and volunteers are now being recruited to support race day operations. Organizers say there are roles available for every type of helper, whether you prefer being in the middle of the action or working behind the scenes.
Volunteer opportunities include assisting with race packet distribution, working at the finish line, helping with setup and teardown, serving as course marshals, and more. Road marshals are especially needed at key intersections throughout the city to guide runners, keep them safe, and bring energy and encouragement to the course.
“The Combos® Marathon continues to highlight the very best of Albany,” said Visit Albany President and CEO Kasey L. Summerville. “Our volunteers, partners, and residents make this event more than a race — they make it a celebration of our city’s pride, hospitality, and unwavering spirit.”
Volunteering is a great opportunity for families, school groups, churches, and local organizations to get involved in one of the community’s biggest annual events. Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt, snacks, and free entry to the Downtown Street Festival.
