Albany’s Artesian Alliance Offers Programs During Break
Keeping Kids' Minds Sharp
ALBANY, GA – While many are celebrating Easter early, one Albany group has been helping keep local kids active.
CBS 44’s Brian Roche tells us how they’re keeping kids from falling behind when spring break ends.
Some of Albany’s biggest attractions are coming together to keep kids mentally active as they continue their spring break.
Albany Artesian Alliance Director of Education, Jackie Entz says it’s to prevent what she calls “the brain drain”…
“This past week, we have had a camp at Chehaw so that way there is no “brain drain” over spring break. Campers are welcome to come, have some fun, run around. But, we sneak in all that education right into the middle of all the fun with those hands on learning activities,” said Entz.
But more than just the Flint Riverquarium and Chehaw Park, Entz is hoping that students will continue to stay motivated, even during their break.
“We over here at the Artesian Alliance want to make sure that we engage children in all sorts of different activities through learning, through social activities, through play. And, all of the programs we have to offer does just that. It keeps them motivated. It keeps them moving,” said Entz.
And, while it will be sticking around for a while after spring break, Entz is still encouraging kids and their families to come and see the Alliance’s DEA exhibit.
“Not only is it free to visit this exhibit, because our goal is to have as many people come through so we can have as much impact as possible in southwest Georgia,” said Entz.
Entz says that groups interested can contact the Albany Artesian Alliance to organize free transportation.
