Albany to host first-ever “Climb Out of Darkness” event for Perinatal Mental Health Awareness

ALBANY, Ga. – Albany will host its first-ever “Climb Out of Darkness” on Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at Radium Springs Garden, 2501 Radium Springs Road. This event is part of The Climb, a program of Postpartum Support International (PSI) and the world’s largest event dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of perinatal mental health disorders.

The Albany event features a short walk, giving participants an opportunity to connect with others, celebrate survivors, and recognize each individual’s journey from perinatal mental health challenges into recovery. Volunteers organize community events like this to offer support to parents, families, and professionals while fundraising for critical mental health care during this important period.

Those interested in participating or donating can RSVP or contribute via albanygaclim@gmail.com. All donations are tax-deductible, and funds go directly to supporting the mental health of birthing people and their families.
