Albany Technical College unveils Titans Culinary Cuisine Restaurant
ALBANY, Ga. – Can you smell what Albany Technical College is cooking, as they prepare a delectable dining experience at the new Titans Culinary Cuisine Restaurant?
Albany Technical College celebrates the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Titans Culinary Cuisine Restaurant, a venue that will showcase the outstanding culinary prowess and talents of its students.
“Excited, nervous, we wanted everything to be perfect. So, that brought on a little bit of nerves. But, at the same time this is a new opportunity. This is giving our students the ability to see fine dining and actually practice fine dining, something that is very rare in this area. Not only is it giving them something new to practice, that when they graduate, they can go anywhere in the world and work,” said Matt Beard, Culinary Arts Program Chair.
The culinary students are demonstrating their remarkable versatility by presenting a diverse array of dishes with international influences, hailing from countries like France and Germany.
Matt Beard, the Chair of the Culinary Arts Program, provides insightful commentary on the exquisite offerings featured in the restaurant’s menu.
“Each country and area has a different cuisine. As we get into our contemporary class, we actually learn that the different countries have different of cuisine. Exposing the students to the true origin of these cuisines, as well as allowing them to do more of the infusion of our culture with the different cultures to create a whole new cuisine,” said Beard.
The realization of the Titan’s culinary cuisine stands as a testament to the dedication and perseverance exhibited throughout its development.
Matt Beard reflects on the challenging, yet rewarding journey leading to the culmination of the establishment.
“The journey started several years ago when President Parker actually said he wanted a restaurant. We have experimented, having a fine-dining restaurant, it was usually a mobile situation here on campus. But we finally started with construction. Construction was a little bit of a challenge. We had to pretty much shut down the kitchen, wait until construction was done, then go through and clean again. Then, slowly through the decorating process; getting everything set up, setting up the menus, making sure our assignments were out. Working through the process of how everything is going to work once the restaurant does open,” said Beard.
Additional details, including weekly menus and instructions for RSVP, will be accessible through the Albany Technical College website.
