Albany police looking for escaped inmate

ALBANY, Ga. – The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office has initiated a widespread search for 36-year-old Carlton Bradford Gillis.

Gillis was transported to the hospital for medical treatment at approximately 10:50 a.m. Saturday morning. During his time at the hospital, he managed to overpower the guard assigned to him and subsequently fled on foot.

He is currently wanted on multiple charges, including robbery by force, kidnapping, fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, and suspended license.

Authorities in Terrell county have also been informed of the situation and are actively involved in the efforts to locate Gillis.
