Albany Police Department responds to falsely circulating social media posts
ALBANY, Ga. – According to a post on the Albany Police Department Facebook page,
“The Albany Police Department is aware of multiple social media posts circulating that reference an “active shooter” at the Albany Mall, within Dougherty County Schools, and near the Nottingham and Stuart Avenue area.
At this time, this information is not accurate, and these reports have been unfounded.
We would like to remind our community how quickly false information can spread and cause unnecessary concern. Please rely on verified sources for updates.
If any credible information becomes available, we will notify the public immediately. It is our duty to keep our community safe and informed.”
