Albany Police Department hosts Business Watch Crime Prevention Informational Meeting

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department (APD) is inviting local business owners and managers to a special crime-prevention meeting designed to strengthen safety and communication between law enforcement and the business community.

The Business Watch Crime Prevention Session will be held on Thursday, November 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Albany Police Department Community Room, located at 201 W. Oglethorpe Blvd.

During the meeting, APD’s Crime Prevention Unit will share best practices to help business owners protect their assets and respond to crime more effectively. Topics include preventing internal theft, improving communication between police and businesses, identifying current crime trends, and learning how to handle real-time incidents. Officers will also introduce Fusus Connect, a technology platform that allows businesses to share camera feeds directly with police during emergencies.

The event is interactive and geared toward anyone who manages or owns a business, offering an opportunity to ask questions, learn practical safety strategies, and build a stronger partnership with law enforcement.
