Albany Police Department actively investigating felony murder case
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department is actively investigating a felony murder case stemming from a shooting that occurred in the 1100 block of W. Waddell Avenue on December 8, 2025.
The investigation has yielded that 41-year-old Allen Plummer was outside speaking with individuals who were seated inside a vehicle parked in a driveway. During this interaction, gunfire erupted from a location that was unknown to the subjects at the residence. Bullets struck the driver of the vehicle and other occupants at the residence.
In an effort to escape the gunfire and to seek cover, Mr. Plummer moved to the front of the vehicle. At the same time, the driver, who was also being fired upon and was later confirmed to have been struck by gunfire, attempted to flee the area by shifting the vehicle into gear. During this unfortunate sequence of events, Mr. Plummer succumbed to the injuries he sustained while attempting to take cover. In total, two individuals were struck by gunfire during this incident.
While investigators continue to work through the circumstances surrounding all aspects of this incident, detectives are actively seeking to identify the person or persons responsible for firing the shots that set these events into motion.
