Albany PD looking for motor vehicle theft suspect

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is seeking public assistance with locating Cody James Kalawaia, who is wanted for motor vehicle theft and probation violation.
On Thursday, April 27th, Kalawaia stole a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado truck from 2033 North Slappey Boulevard while the driver was inside a store.
He then drove the vehicle to the east side of Albany, where several items were discarded from the vehicle, including a cell phone that was later located on Wyandotte Road.
There were several fiberglass ladders and tools taken from the truck that were not recovered. The truck was later located at 1207 Radium Springs Road, where the suspect was last seen.
