Albany Marathon proceeds donated to Wilson Hospice and 2025 medal revealed

ALBANY, Ga. – While the Albany Marathon may still be months away, the proceeds from the 2024 marathon were given out today.

Community leaders alongside Mars-Wrigley announced a donation of $20,000 to Wilson Hospice Health Wednesday afternoon.

In addition to presenting the check, the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau also unveiled the designs for the 2025 Marathon, paying homage to Radium Springs.

We caught up with outgoing Convention and Visitors’ Bureau Executive Director, Rashelle Minix, about being able to donate the money raised from the Albany Marathon year in and year out.

“It’s just a very important event. This being maybe my last opportunity to help with a check presentation is very bittersweet. It’ll continue, and we’ve given over $370,000 in donations, so we’re really excited and it’s just been an amazing opportunity to be a part of it,” said Rashelle Minix, Convention and Visitors’ Bureau Executive Director.

The 2025 Albany Marathon will take place on Saturday, March 1st, 2025.
