Albany Humane Society holds annual “Dog Days of Summer” fundraiser

ALBANY, Ga. – Well, the “Dog Days of Summer” is more than just a saying in south Albany as the humane society hosts their annual fundraiser.

Aptly named, ‘The Dog Days of Summer’ the humane society is raising money through the end of the month to help cover some of the costs of caring for many of the animals.

Including Vincent here, whose unfortunately missing an ear, but is up for adoption.

Humane Society Director, Payton Jarrell explains how the funding gets used to help prepare dogs like Vincent ready to find that forever home.

“When you do donate towards the ‘Dog Days of Summer’ campaign, it allows us to take in dogs and help them get the medical treatment that they need, whether that be they might have physical disabilities, mental disabilities. The funding really helps us when it comes to things like vet appointments, medications, and also just fun things for these babies,” said Payton Jarrell, Director, Albany Humane Society.

If you’re interested in donating, you can find a link to the humane society’s Facebook page here

The campaign will run through the end of August.
