ALBANY, Ga. – In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Albany community come together for the “Paint the Town Pink,” an annual event that spreads a vibrant message of hope and solidarity.
The City of Albany has once again set the stage for a remarkable display as they hosted their annual “Paint the Town Pink,” at the Government Center in downtown Albany…an occasion marked by deep reverence, to honor and remember those whose lives have been touched by the impact of breast cancer.
“This is our annual “Paint the Town Pink” happening in the center of downtown Albany. You’ll see, and you can hear the music behind us. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate our survivors, to remember our angels, but also to breathe awareness about breast cancer awareness,” said Lequrica Gaskins, Downtown City Manager.
In a powerful tribute, participants donned a sea of pink attire. The event featured a diverse array of attractions, including music, a variety of food vendors, a captivating fashion show, and informative vendors.
Lequrica Gaskins, Manager for the downtown City of Albany, offers insight into the notable highlights of this event.
“As you can see around you, you’ll see that there are some medical professionals who are here; who can provide some information to those who are interested to learn more about the disease and how they can protect themselves. So, the City of Albany is taking a lead to make certain that the information is getting out into the community,” said Gaskins.
The City of Albany extends a heartfelt message to individuals courageously battling breast cancer…
“To the women, and also the men, because we understand that the men can also be impacted by breast cancer. We support you, we honor you, we are here if you need us. We just wanna make certain that the information is provided to the community, but also, that we support and celebrate those who have been impacted,” said Gaskins.
