Albany Area YMCA issues warning about unauthorized fundraiser
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Area YMCA is issuing a warning to the community about an unauthorized fundraiser.
The YMCA issued a press release saying they’ve had recent reports throughout the past week that children in various neighborhoods have been going door-to-door to solicit donations under the guise of supporting the organization.
In that statement, they say that the efforts are not affiliated with them or the YMCA in any capacity.
The Albany Area YMCA is currently working with law enforcement to help crack down on the matter.
If you have been approached by anyone claiming to support YMCA summer camps and suspect fraudulent activity, to contact law enforcement or the Albany Area YMCA at (229) 436-0531.
