Albany Area YMCA accepting lifeguard applications starting Monday
ALBANY, Ga. – And, the YMCA isn’t just looking to sign people up for their new program, they’re also looking for people interested in becoming lifeguards.
Starting Monday, the 19th, and continuing throughout the week, the Albany Area YMCA will be accepting applications for lifeguards.
YMCA President, Dan Gillan emphasizes the ongoing need for lifeguards, especially as they encourage more people to use the pool.
“We can’t offer this program to our children in our childcare department, in our afterschool programs, unless we have trained childcare counselors on hand. We do have lifeguards on staff. We do have counselors on staff. But we need more to help relieve the burden of the hours and the time on deck for a lifeguard, the time in the classroom for our counselors,” said Dan Gillan, President, Albany Area YMCA.
If you’re interested in becoming a lifeguard, you can reach out to Jabin Wallace, Aquatics Director.
