Albany Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the State of the Community “Issues & Insights” event at Albany State University
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed everyone to come out and have a conversation about what is best for the Good Life City and it’s community.
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the State of the Community “Issues & Insights” event at Albany State University Student Center.
State of the Community, hosted by Synovus brings together leaders in the community for insightful dialogue about trending topics in the Albany area.
“Through the Albany Area Chamber, we connect, we convene, and we collaborate and so we’re doing that today. We bring people together, we talk about opportunities, we talk about the challenges,” said Barbara Rivera Holmes, President & CEO, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.
The panel discussed key issues such as housing, education, transportation and economic development.
President and CEO of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission, Jana Dyke, talks about economic development.
“Economic development is all things business and we are able to accomplish economic development through partnerships and collaborations, such as with the chamber and the business community. One of the key things that we do is recruit new business into our community. As well as those business that are already here, we help them with expansion, we help them with workforce issues that they are having,” said Jana Dyke, Albany-Dougherty County Economic Development Commission President & CEO.
“Albany has so many great things going for it, and it’s really a tribute to our community, citizens, our leadership, our strategic partners. But, with every community there are areas of improvement, and so today we’re gonna talk through what we are doing in certain areas and we’re we can grow in certain areas, and how we can problem solve together,” said Holmes.
