Albany Area Chamber of Commerce hosts annual Military Affairs Rise N Shine Breakfast
ALBANY, Ga. – While many of us were likely just waking up this Thursday morning, Albany business owners and Marine Corps leadership were already up and active.
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce (AACC) hosted their Military Affairs Rise N Shine Breakfast, where leadership from the Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) met with local business leaders to discuss the state of the base.
A panel of Marine leadership highlighted their accomplishments over the past year and recognized military personnel achievements.
Albany Area Chamber of Commerce President, Barbara Rivera-Holmes, spoke with us about the event and what it means for the financial future of not just Albany, but southwest Georgia as a whole.
“This event allows us to recognize, not just the contributions of our individual Marines and sailors, and our military families who do so much to support the network. But, also learn more about the opportunities aboard the base, and aboard the command about the roles in national defense; about the innovations that are being led right here in Albany…” said Bárbara Rivera-Holmes, President, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.
According to the AACC, the MCLB has a $1.5 billion dollar economic impact on southwest Georgia.
