Albany Area Chamber of Commerce hosts 68th Annual Dougherty County STAR Student and Teacher Luncheon

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to host the 68th Annual Dougherty County STAR Student and Teacher Luncheon, honoring some of the brightest graduating seniors in our community and the educators who have helped guide them along the way. Presented by U-Save-It Pharmacy, the event celebrated academic achievement, leadership, and the power of great teachers.

Congratulations to Alyia Nurbhai of Deerfield-Windsor School, named the 2026 Dougherty County STAR Student, and to Jessica Carr, her selected STAR Teacher. We also congratulate all of this year’s STAR Students and Teachers who exemplify excellence and represent the future of Albany and Southwest Georgia.

Lauren Aaliyah Salter, the STAR Student from Dougherty Comprehensive High School and her STAR Teacher, Mr. Derrick Battle from Lincoln Elementary Magnet School.
Kendall Benjamin Tyler Trent, the STAR Student from Monroe Comprehensive High School and his STAR Teacher, Mr. Lawrence Green also from Monroe Comprehensive High School.
Kate Orme, the STAR Student from Westover Comprehensive High School and her STAR Teacher, Ms. Angela Warren, Retired Educator also from Westover Comprehensive High School.
