Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, Dougherty County Public Library celebrates ribbon cutting of Library On Wheels

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to celebrate the Library On Wheels with a ribbon cutting as this incredible resource officially opens for business!

Currently parked at West Town, the Library On Wheels is bringing access, opportunity, and learning directly to the community. Designed to serve residents across Albany, this innovative “classroom on wheels” expands library services beyond traditional walls.

The bus is fully equipped with WiFi, computers, books, DVDs, printers, and even allows visitors to register for a library card on-site. In addition to serving the public at West Town, the Library On Wheels plans to regularly visit nursing homes and senior centers, ensuring resources reach those who need them most.

We’re excited to see the impact this mobile library will make by connecting our community to education, technology, and lifelong learning—one stop at a time!
