Albany Area Arts Council’s 24th Annual Southwest Georgia Regional Fine Art Exhibition & Sale
ALBANY, Ga. – A long-standing summer tradition in South Georgia’s art community is returning this weekend.
The Albany Area Arts Council is kicking off their 24th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition downtown this weekend, featuring artists from across southwest Georgia.
The exhibit will run for multiple weeks during the summer months and feature over 100 pieces of art, ranging from portraits to sculptures.
Art Council Executive Director, Nicole Willis met with us before the expo to talk about giving local artists a chance to show their bodies of work.
“The beauty of it is it gives all of our artists in the region an opportunity to enter work, if they don’t have enough work for like, a personal exhibition, it gives them the opportunity to show work, and be a part of our community. The goal of the exhibition is to build a community of artists and give them an opportunity to share their work,” said Nicole Willis, Executive Director of Albany Area Arts Council (AAAC).
The expo will run from this Saturday, June 8th through Wednesday, July 24th from Noon to 4 pm daily.
Some of the art pieces on display will also be for sale.
